Only on an adoption listserv...

will you see, "Sit back and enjoy the pure terror of it all!"

Along with Rumors...

When rumors start coming, can ladybugs be far behind? (I mean the REAL ones...uh, sort of; anyway, I don't mean those beetles everyone glorifies into ladybugs. I'm talking unreal real ones.) I went shopping today with Valerie. While we were at Joseph Beth, I bought a pop-up book called The Very Lazy Ladybug because I had to! It was about ladybugs! Then I came home and my Secret Buddy from the listserv had sent me ladybug earrings AND a ladybug stuffed animal.

In addition, everyone on the listserv is arguing. Another good sign, as someone pointed out.

The best sign, though, is that even the husbands and the KIDS are starting to "nest." My folks aren't the only ones who are, either.

RUMORS!!!

I LOVE rumors! Guess it's part of human nature, but when it involves referrals, it's even more exciting!

Three sources are saying we will hear the week of April 11 and that the referrals will include all who were logged in in China by October 20. To cut through all the adoption lingo--THAT'S US! I just hope that the three rumors I heard didn't all come from the same erroneous source. It can happen.

I wonder if I'll get anything accomplished for the rest of the year.

This is new--and kind of weird

I am completing (I hope) my baby registry today at babiesrus. Never did this with the boys. REALLY odd feeling.

Introduction to my new, exclusive blog

I'm in nesting mode this week, so I figure what better way to establish my mindset as "due at any time" than to start a blog specifically for our adoption. I've been toying with the idea for a while, but the idea of counting the proverbial chickens made me a little hesitant. Now I feel more confident that things will happen as we've planned and hoped for a year, so here we go.

I'm dreaming every once in a while about a young'n with almond eyes and black, black hair. Sometimes she has curls. Last night, she spoke English and asked me my name and I fell in love instantly and I told Brian I wanted to keep her. Other nights she's sitting far away and I can see her, but I can't touch her.

I spoke with Stephanie at China Adoption with Love this morning about an issue. While we were speaking, she did tell me that they don't know when or what weeks will be coming in next, but we would travel in June if we were with the next batch of referrals. I'm hearing rumors that the cut-off for some agencies is October 20 and that the referrals will be in mid-April, but right now anything is anybody's guess.

And someone told me today that if I think the wait is tough now, wait until we get a referral! Ugh! And I'm already packing!
